Thank you for taking the time to read our website This simple act reflects that you are thoughtful, deliberate and open minded. Your willingness to listen shows others that you too are seeking ways to better our community. Over the next few months, let’s continue this discussion and create an agenda of empowerment that is real and based on common sense values. My hope, with your support, is to choose leadership that inspires all residents of St. Croix to not just do more - but do it better.

This election year is a critical one. Your decisions will help determine if St. Croix finally begins to close the opportunity gap that continues to hold us back from economic prosperity and social harmony. Our community leaders and elected officials have spent much of your time repeatedly outlining what the problems are without listening to your ideas to fix them. I need your help to change that.

As your St. Croix Senator, I will serve in rapport not rancor. The days of looking important without doing important things are gone. We need Senators who can bring solutions and close the deal. You need a Senator who knows true leaders learn to put service above self; a true public servant in purpose and action. I am that candidate. I will be that Senator. I hope you share my sentiments and would love to hear more of your thoughts. Please e-mail me with your ideas for our island’s prosperity. You can also join us on Facebook and continue to surf this web site to learn more about the campaign. I look forward to serving you.

Mr. Nugent believes the best way to school reform is to engage teachers, parents and empower principals in the decision-making. We need to restore real transparency and integrity to the management process. Brad will work with the community every step of the way. As your next St. Croix Senator, Brad will double our efforts to empower, recruit, reward, and retain good teachers. Trim the bloated bureaucracy in top management; remove bad teachers and unproductive department managers as well. We’ll invest more in career and technical high school education so that students who want to go to work immediately after high school will have the skills to compete for a job. We’ll support a new St. Croix Community College or Technical Institute, working to prepare students for advance careers in science, information technology and hospitality industry.

Brad Nugent believes that we need a Legislature that will develop real incentives and a strategy for creating jobs for our people. There are too many people all over this territory showing frustration and concern about where their next paycheck is coming from. The high unemployment has affected our overall tax base, affordable housing and created a breeding ground for criminal behavior. The growing hopelessness in some corners of this community is now burning up our public safety resources putting more young men into the family of prison systems.
